Alligator Farm

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park is one of Florida's oldest continuously running attractions, having opened on May 20, 1893.[3] Not only does it have over 20 species of crocodilians, but also a variety of other reptiles, mammals, and birds, as well as exhibits, animal performances and educational demonstrations.

Blue Cypress Rec Center is open for residents to enjoy a game of air hockey or table tennis inside the facility during non-programmed hours, or venture outside to the tennis courts, soccer fields or softball fields. Visitors may also enjoy a hike along the park's paved nature trail, a dip in the swimming pool, some fishing in the lake, a game of golf on the facility's 9-hole golf course or a kayak excursion along the St. John's River from the park's shoreline launch site.

The Adele Grage Cultural Center, located at 716 Ocean Boulevard & 7th St, provides space for the Atlantic Beach Recreation and Special Events offices, a community room (20'X40') with a full service kitchen (available for rent), public computers, a 60-seat theatre, and art gallery for monthly exhibitions. Central Park is located on Atlantic Avenue and consists of a comfort station, 4 lighted tennis courts, 1 baseball practice field, a minor, major and senior league baseball playing field, a football playing field, a playground, a gazebo and picnic tables.

The property was originally owned by John Hunter, a retired Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer. The park is named after his daughter, who died protecting her nephew from a drunk driver. Cuba Hunter Park`s 10,000 sq. ft. skateboard facility has great features, including a 6-foot half pipe, a 7-foot quarter pipe, jump boxes, multiple rails and a bank ramp with a partial pyramid. Smooth cement and sturdy steel construction rank this site with other top city-owned skateboard parks across the country. Cuba Hunter Park also includes two playscapes, a multi-use athletic field, a 0.25mile boardwalk winding through more than 3.5 acres of wetlands, and a covered pavilion with three picnic tables and two grills. In 2005 a gymnasium with an elevated track and a community building were added. In 2006 an additional picnic pavilion was constructed near the lake.

Located at the corner of San Carlos and San Marco Ave., the park has a restored antique carousel which operates seven days a week. The playground area, Kourtney's Korner, is fully handicap accessible with both open and closed slides, monkey bars and other exercise and fun equipment. The entire park is fully enclosed and picnic tables are available.

Davis Park Complex & Paws Dog Park

Davis Park is a work in progress. This off-leash park was one of it's first features. There is also a playground and numerous soccer and softball fields. The off-leash area is somewhat small, and most of the space is taken up by a pond. But for dogs who like to get wet on their walks, this might be just the place for you.

Deerwood Rotary Childrens Park

Founded in 1986, the Rotary Club of Deerwood was chartered with the goal of becoming the preeminent service club in Jacksonville. From the beginning, the club was determined to remain small but comprised of influential people who could make a significant impact in the community.

Murray Hill Art Center at Herbert Bayer Park is located in the Murray Hill Heights section of southwest Jacksonville. In 1949, the City purchased the park property, including the building that originally housed the Murray Hill Baptist Church. The park opened soon thereafter, and was originally named for Herbert Bayer (1900-1971), the dean of Florida’s legislative reporters, who lived near the park. Mr. Bayer covered every legislative session for the Florida Times Union between 1925 and his retirement in 1964. After use as a community center, the building sat empty, when through the efforts of the Murray Hill Civic Club and the City, it opened for art programs in 1985. Classes were offered in watercolor painting, weaving, basketry, quilting, pottery and more, and the Civic Club held monthly meetings at the Center. The programs expanded through the 1980’s, and it is the City’s principal visual arts center in 2005.


The Hands On Children's Museum promotes hands-on participatory learning for children of all ages. We encourage discovery through observation, inquiry, creative construction, role-playing, problem-solving and free play. The museum motivates children to develop their cognitive, physical and social skills while enjoying fruitful interaction with their peers and adults.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

FREE hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 - 12 offered the 1st Saturday of every month at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.

McGirts Creek Center, located in Jacksonville's Westside, offers M3Zone after school and summer camp activities for youth ages 6 through 12. The facility also has a computer lab and community space. Outside, the park offers lighted basketball courts, picnic tables and pavilion, a nature trail with fitness course and ADA accessible baseball/softball field, made possible in part by Jacksonville Miracle League and the Rotary Club of West Jacksonville.

The New Berlin Model Airplane Field is located in northeastern Jacksonville, east of New Berlin Road. The name New Berlin derives from an area well south of the field near Dames Point on the St. Johns River. After its settlement in the 1860’s, New Berlin became a thriving community that still exists today. The Radio Controlled Club leases the 18.67-acre site from the City and manages the field. The site contains two asphalt runways and is opened seven days a week. The public may visit at any time the field is open and have a picnic, watch the flying etc.

Ringhaver Park is located in southwest Jacksonville, extending south from 118th Street, along the western border of the Ortega River. The City acquired the land comprising the park in 1971, 1972, 1996, and 2000. The park is named for Lambert C. Ringhaver (1910-1976), whose family made a memorial donation for the initial park development, which has grown from 36 acres in 1977 to 576 acres in 2003. Mr. Ringhaver was the founder of Ring Power Corp., and served as president of the Florida Forestry Association, as a trustee of Jacksonville University, and as president of the Greater Jacksonville Open for two terms. The multi-use park is home to the Westside Soccer Club and the Ortega Stream Valley nature area, which contains an 826-foot boardwalk along the Ortega River and a pier that may be used for launching kayaks and canoes.

With 28,000 square feet of concrete, there is plenty of room for skateboarders of all ages and abilities. We have ½ pipes, rails, ledges, banks and a 9 and half foot (6 foot shallow end) kidney shaped pool to challenge even the most experienced skater.

Ronnie VanZant Memorial Park

The Ronnie VanZant Memorial Park is a 90 acre recreational facility located in Clay County, Florida just south of Jacksonville off US 17 South before Green Cove Springs in Lake Asbury, FL, and has been funded by the Freebird Foundation, Inc from 1992-2001. Park Hours are from sunrise to sunset every day.

Spring Park

Spring Park is located on Magnolia Avenue and opened to the public from dawn to dusk. This park hosts many of the City's activities, such as our famous Memorial Day RiverFest held in May. The park includes state-of-the-art playground equipment for children of all ages and numerous covered shelters for family gatherings, picnics or just relaxing in the shade.

This is a really fun park with lots of play ground equipment for children of all ages. The park has gone through a recent renovation and now has bathroom, jogging trail, basketball courts, tennis courts and picnic shelters.
